About Us
The Spartan A-Team/Class of "88" is a non-profit,
non-governmental group consisting of members of the B.W.Harris High School's
Class of 1988 as well as previous and subsequent graduates of that school.
The group was founded in 1986 by a few students who at the time, were in the
10th grade class. Founding members include: Erickson (Erayscore)
Brown, Elvin (Vinno) Birch, Burgess (BeeQue) Mustapha, Samuel (Chuck)
Norris, Marvin (Casoo) Cassell, Charles (Buttless) Johnson, William (Spoon)
Witherspoon, Fannie (?) Scott, Getahn Ward, Victor (Production) Fares,
Darren (Dominique) Wilkins, Comfort (?) Bright, Clarisa (Popeyes) Ward, and
many others.
Since the civil war in Liberia which caused the displacement of members, the USA branch has been and continues to meet on a yearly basis. Each year a new leader is elected and a new venue for subsequent meetings is selected. The group continues to provide support morally, academically, and financially to those members requiring assistance as well as students of the B.W.Harris Episcopal High School. Recently, a donation of $120 USD was made by the Class of "88" as part payment towards the Nii Koteh Nikoi Scholarship fund drive which it (Class of 88) had initiated. Also, a handheld computer valued at $150 USD was also donated to be given to the student with the highest grade in Science.
