MEETING WITH BOARD MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF ‘88 BOARD MEMBERS:

Vacant – Chaplain Initial targets:

1. Encouraged our classmates to utilize the Class of ’88 website.

2. Get in contact with all members of the class of ’88 via phone calls, emails, etc and encouraged them to participate in the conference calls.

3. Mr. Charles Collins, Jr. and Mr. Kamara Watson, Jr. will each write a speech addressing targets and goals for the Class of ’88 so that we will have something in writing to collectively work towards.

4. Start a plan in motion for The B. W. Harris Alumni Association Convention in Detroit, MI and our visit with Mr. Charles Blamo.

 5. Discuss the class dues for The B. W. Harris Alumni Association Convention and benevolence projects for 2012 and set up a payment plan if necessary.

Organizational/project plans for the Class of ’88:

A project plan for The B. W. Harris Alumni Association Convention in Detroit, MI and our visit with Mr. Charles Blamo will be set up and designed by Mr. Kamara M. Watson, Jr. The plan will include: A list of projects for the year; Set target dates and deadlines for the list of projects proposed by Mr. Watson, Jr. A final discussion between the president Mr. Collins and the vice president Mr. Watson will occur on October 15th to present the project plan to the committee of board members. If approved by the board members, the project plan will be released to the Class of ’88 and placed on the website. Every class member is welcome to add and subtract from the plan. The Class of ’88 Website is up and running! The Class of ’88 Website: http://www.spartanateam.org/ Mr. Darren D. Wilkins was thanked by the board members for maintaining and updating the Class of ’88 website. Mr. Wilkins accepted the board members thanks for the class of ’88 but he encouraged class members to register and use the website. He suggested that an IT Committee be set up to maintain the website in his absence as he sometimes travels out of the USA. IT Committee: Mr. Charles Y. Johnson, II Mr. Darren Wilkins Mr. Emmanuel Toe Mr. Kamara M. Watson, Jr Mr. Kassa Cooper Mr. Marvin Cassell The primary tasks of the IT Committee will be the ff: To manage the website – the website uses Drupal; is web-based and has an open source content management system. The website also works like Facebook but will have to be managed for spam, etc; to set up accounts; to manage the message board and finally, to add trivial questions to encourage our classmates to use the website. The IT Committee will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 28th at 9:00 pm. Finance: Mr. Getahn Ward has been selected as treasurer for the Class of ’88. When approved by Mr. Ward and the president Mr. Collins, a Paypal system will be activated by the IT Committee on the Class of ’88 website. This new method will give the class an added method of making a payment to the class’ account. A payment plan will also be put into place and any of the three methods of payment below can be used if you decide to pursue that route to make your payments. Payment methods: Paypal on Class of ’88 website – newest method Walk-in to Bank of America Mail Checks/money orders to Mr. Ward Funeral/Memorial Service: Mr. Kassa Cooper lost his nephew Mr. Bernard B. Cooper Jr. and the funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2011. Mr. Arthur Pennoh, Mr. Charles Collins, Jr, and Mrs. Fametta Zeon will represent the Class of ’88 at the funeral. Ms. Siah Fallah lost her brother Mr. Howard Fallah in Liberia and a memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2001. Ms. Calesta Doe, Mrs. Ebele Ward/Mr. Getahn Ward, Mr. Elvin Birch, Ms. Helen Flomo, Mrs. Jackie Holt, Mr. Joe Wilson and Mr. Kamara Watson, Jr. will represent the Class of ’88 at the memorial service.
